Peter Foltz is Assistant Professor of Psychology at New Mexico State University and Chief Technologist at Knowledge Analysis Technologies, LLC. His research interests focus on educational technology, cognitive modeling, and language processing. Along with Tom Landauer and Darrell Laham, Peter is one of the named inventors on a patent for the Intelligent Essay Assessor and he has used the IEA in several courses. He recieved his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and subsequently worked as a Post-doctoral researcher at the Learning Research and Development Center, University of Pittsburgh.

Darrell Laham, is Chief Scientist at Knowledge Analysis Technologies, LLC. He received an MA in Educational Psychology, from the University of Arizona and is completing his Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Darrell has many years of experience as an educational technology designer and developer. He was the principal technologist for several experiments and trials of IEA.

Thomas K Landauer, is Professor of Psychology at the Univeristy of Colorado and is President and CEO of Knowledge Analysis Technologies, LLC. He has had regular faculty appointments at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Dartmouth College, Stanford University, and Princeton University, and the University of Colorado at Boulder. Between Stanford and Colorado, Tom spent 25 years as Distinguished Member of Technical Staff in Bell Laboratory's research division and Director of Cognitive Science Research at Bell Communications Research. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University.
