Machaut to Puccini: A Kaleidoscopic View
Patricia Gray, Rhodes College

Assistant Professor Patricia Gray (http://gray.music.rhodes.edu/musichtmls/faculty/gray.html) has taught at Rhodes College since 1989. She holds a B.A. from Rhodes College, an M.M. and M.A. from the University of Memphis and a Ph.D. in musicology from Washington University in St. Louis. At Rhodes she teaches courses in The Musical Heritage of Russia and Eastern Europe, History of Opera, European Musical Heritage, Music in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, Nationalism in Music, and 20th Century Music. Her classes make extensive use of the Internet and create Web pages as part of their classwork. Her most recent project is the Gradus ad Parnassum site. It is the result of a Mellon Technology grant from the Associated Colleges of the South and is designed to help students prepare for graduate school placement tests in music history.
