Web Classroom of the Future: Integrating Course Management Software in a Java-based Environment
Walter Rodriguez, Florida Gulf Coast University

Dr. Walter Rodriguez, P.E., Professor & Chair, Department of Computer Information Systems and Decision Sciences. He directs the Institute for Technological Innovation and Florida Engineering Education Delivery System. Professor Rodriguez teaches Internet-based Management Information Systems, incorporating e-commerce and enterprise resource planning. He obtained his Ph.D. in engineering management (CE/ISE) from University of Florida in 1982. He founded and chaired the Engineering Computer Graphics Program at Georgia Tech (1985-93) and was awarded the Harvard Foundation Medal (1994) and the MLK Postdoctoral Fellowship (Information Technology) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1996), while serving as Berger Chair at Tufts University. Dr. Rodriguez research focuses on visual-based systems development and multi-project management. He has published over 100 research articles and four McGraw-Hill books. During the last 15 years, he has obtained continuous National Science Foundation and private industry sponsored grants in: systems development, collaborative decision-support and multi-project management areas---including the current NSF CREW (1997-2000) and Allen Systems and Enterprise Florida (1998) awards.
