The Hypermedia Conversation: Reflecting Upon, Building and Communicating Ill-defined Arguments

Milton Campos (http://www.fas.umontreal.ca/COM/com2580/Index.htm ) is visiting professor at the University of Montréal, Canada. He has been studying, teaching and researching computer-mediated and media communication for more than 20 years. In addition, he has extensive working experience in software development, and radio and television production in networks like the BBC. Dr. Campos holds a PhD in Psychology, and a MS and a BA in Communication by the University of São Paulo. Post-doctoral research was carried out at Simon Fraser University, in collaboration with the Canadian TeleLearning - Network of Centres of Excellence. Presently, Milton Campos researches the meaning systems triggered by computer-mediated communication. Specifically: the constitution, the development, the role, and the effects of hypermedia interaction, be through multimedia objects, virtual conversation, or both. Dr. Campos is working on the development of socio-cognitive communication theories, and on methods for the analysis of hypermedia and multimedia discourse.
