Julio J. González was born in Córdoba, Argentina. He received
the following degrees in Electrical Engineering: B.Sc. from the University
of Mendoza, Argentina, in 1975, M.Sc. from the University of Birmingham,
U.K., in 1979, and Ph.D. from Colorado State University (CSU), Fort Collins,
in 1991. In September 1993, he joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering
Department of the State University of New York (SUNY), where he is currently
an Associate Professor. In March 1994 the German government awarded him
a Konrad Zuse Professorship to teach for six months at Fachhochschule
Regensburg, Germany. His primary areas of research include force control
of robots, control theory applied to electronic circuits, and computer-assisted
teaching.
Dr. González
was awarded the prize to the best teacher for the academic year 1992-93
by the Electrical Engineering Department at CSU. In 2001 he received the
SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is a senior member
of IEEE and a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.

Laurence Reitman received degrees in Electrical Engineering from the State
University of New York at New Paltz (MS) and from the State University
of New York at Stony Brook (BE). Since February 2001, he has been working
as a design engineering consultant involved in embedded systems programming
for digital signal processors.
