About this Demo:

Many instructors have built static web pages, which they use to explain writing basics, but they have no means of incorporating asynchronous paper exchange on a website (many attempt to do so with an email link, but the instructor has no quality control over email as no record is filed). However, many courseware products allow for the asynchronous exchange of papers in the Discussion Board, but distance learning administrators have limited space on their servers that run such courseware. They do not want to fill up space with a large web page. This demo which is a simulation of a courseware intends to show instructors how they can integrate the two dimensions of the OWL to employ paper exchange (within a threaded discussion group, not email) and instructional pages.

Since this is only a simulation of a courseware, not all links are active; only those links that demonstrate the concept above are active. The two buttons highlighted on the left, and , are active. Course Information links to a page that contains a link to static web pages which are located on another server and are used for explaining writing basics. The Discussion Board button links to the asynchronous exchange of papers in the Discussion Board.
